Austin’s Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ is the King of the World When it Comes to Brisket Tacos

October 20, 2019 By WooPigFoodie Leave a Comment

Pulling up on that crunchy gravel lot, there will already be a line in front of Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ in Austin, Texas. And you’ll probably say to yourself, do I really want to stand in line at yet another Austin food truck, especially this early in the morning on a Saturday? Don’t fool yourself. The answer is yes. Yes, you do. Austin’s Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ is the real deal. It is the king of the world when it comes to brisket tacos.

But this isn’t just any King of the World Brisket Taco Truck. Valentina’s has now moved to a permanent spot. There’s a terrific cool spot inside to go and eat once you have waited in said long line and have your many, many plates of brisket tacos. It’s a really gorgeous spot to rest and ponder their fantastic brisket.

But yes, you still have to order and pick it up outside at the truck.

But they’re fast, and real nice. They’ll get it to you right quick. Since you have time, walk around and take a gander at the smokers.

This is where the magic happens. Speaking of magic, right about now they’re calling your name. Time to grab your brisket tacos. Your eyes are probably bugging out right about now.

None of these pictures do these brisket tacos justice. They will blow your mind.

The best brisket tacos in texas

My favorite was this simple brisket and guacamole taco. The perfect balance of insanely juicy, smoky brisket, and cool and rich guacamole. Here’s another picture.

Their famous brisket taco is called the Real Deal Holyfield. That’s the one on the right in the below picture. It has a fried egg, bacon, potatoes, refried beans and brisket (or if you’re a darned fool, you can get it with pulled pork instead). The RDH is good, no doubt, but there’s so much going on that it hides the deliciousness of that smoky brisket. And that’s a shame. So go get the brisket and guacamole one, instead.

All you need in your breakfast life, and well, maybe life in total, is some of this brisket. And maybe one of those bottles of Big Red soda. That’s good alongside. Let’s get back to looking at brisket.

I have 100 photographs of this magical place. I wish I lived close by. I will never visit Austin without coming here. There is no better place for a brisket taco. I want some Right Now. It’s that good, folks.

The Thing About Fried Pickles

The thing about fried pickles is that you know they’re going to be hot. And you know that little cup of ranch dressing isn’t going to do it. You’re going to burn your mouth, your hands, and have hot vinegary dill pickle juice streaming down your chin and dripping onto the table. That’s just the way it is. And you don’t care. So you dive in, and burn yourself good. And it’s fantastic.
