Moe Cason Barbecue – Memphis In May 2023

May 20, 2023 By WooPigFoodie Leave a Comment

Moe Cason is an awesome barbecue cook with a great story. He also just came out with a killer cookbook which you definitely should check out, especially if you don’t know his backstory (and the recipes are the family type of recipes that you will make again and again). Moe cooks shoulder every Memphis in May and you can usually find him walking around with a big cigar and a smile. He makes some absolutely delicious barbecue and I hope these pics do him some justice.

This is right about the time he almost dropped it. Great save though!

Moe came in third overall this year with this absolutely gorgeous shoulder. So juicy and smoky. I ate all I could!

Here’s an oldie but still a goodie!

The Thing About Fried Pickles

The thing about fried pickles is that you know they’re going to be hot. And you know that little cup of ranch dressing isn’t going to do it. You’re going to burn your mouth, your hands, and have hot vinegary dill pickle juice streaming down your chin and dripping onto the table. That’s just the way it is. And you don’t care. So you dive in, and burn yourself good. And it’s fantastic.
